Bike Touring Highlight
With numerous restaurants and bars, Quayside is the beating heart of Newcastle. The area along the river was once the center of the industrial revolution in the city, home to commercial docks, a Flour Mill and Hoults Yard pottery. Walking along Quayside, you will see some of Newcastle's most iconic sights such as the Tyne Bridge and Gateshead Millenium Bridge. Traffic in the area is normally quite busy, so you might want to stick to cycling in the bus lanes.
Nice ride along some iconic Newcastle views. But take care of the pedestrians, I was cycling along here on a Saturday and there were some idiotic cyclists weaving in and out of some vulnerable pedestrians giving us all a bad name.
