The church was built from 1618-1623. Start of construction was still before the foundation of the city. The tower collapsed in 1648 in a natural disaster.

The candelabra stands exactly in the center of the radial city Glückstadt. In this photo he is caught in the fishing net with fish because of the Matjeswoche.

An inland port with a magnificent row of historic houses gives Glückstadt a maritime atmosphere. In summer there are many leisure captains. The whole beauty of the city, however, only becomes apparent during a stroll through the adjacent streets to the market square. The stately cobblestone square is the focal point of the site, which was planned on paper in the early 17th century.

The Glückstadt city church was built as the first Protestant church in the duchies of Holstein and Schleswig. Interesting is not only the magnificent interior, but are also the little stories that entwine around the church ...

The historic old town is a feast for the eyes. Hi-heels should be left at home :-)

The present town hall was built from 1873-1874 in the style of the late Renaissance on the model of the previous building, after this was removed because of dilapidated.

The Glückstadt Town Hall is located in the historic city of Glückstadt in western Schleswig-Holstein. It stands directly on the market square, which it dominates along with the town church opposite. The city hall of Glückstadt was built on the initiative of the Danish King Christian IV in the city, which was founded in 1617.Source: Wiki
