Can I confirm - but also good for cycling in beautiful nature. The copper pond is the former mill pond of a long-demolished copper mill between Lemsahl-Mellingstedt and Poppenbüttel. For this purpose, the Mellingbek and Twelenbek streams, coming from Wittmoor and merging in front of the copper pond, were dammed up at about 900 m.At the northern beginning of the copper pond and below the former Mühlendamm at the lower end, remains of fishponds are still to be found. In the middle of the pond runs a dam which additionally dams up the northern part. Formerly there was a campsite with a small restaurant on the western shore. Today the area is set up as a dog run.To the west and east of the copper pond is now an extensive golf course.
South of the copper pond, between the Poppenbütteler mountain and the Poppenbütteler main road, there is still a street Kupferhammer which is partially designed as a footpath.
The Mellingbek flows after leaving the copper pond, Hohenbuchen in the Alster.
