Here from the Kennedy Bridge at the southern tip of the Outer Alster you have best views of the Outer Alster. On the Binnenalster one has from the Lombardsbrücke the better view.Round trips around or on the Binnenalster and Außenalster as well as walks around the water are with locals and tourists very popular. Sunsets on the outer Alster lend a romantic flair and the adjacent attractions are worth a visit.
With a stately size of 164 hectares, the Outer Alster on all the banks is a popular starting point for walks. For joggers, the paths along the water are also popular and small sailing ships and the Alster steamer make their rounds on the water.
The Kennedy and Lombards Bridge separate the outskirts of the Binnenalster. The Lombards Bridge also marks the old course of the city fortification. Those who find the way to the Outer Alster too tedious, despite all the temptations, prefer the little round around the Binnenalster.

As a native of Mainz, who has lived in Hamburg since 1992, I am always impressed by this backdrop.
Without having seen the Alster, a tourist must not leave Hamburg!

Just to enjoy. We were lucky it was just a sailing regatta instead.

Pure nature in the middle of the big city. When the fountain is running and the wind is gracious, there's a big movie theater.
