The mill is a museum, restaurant and hotel at the same time. The accommodation is clean. Dinner, delicious and the breakfast was quite enough.
Unfortunately we could not try the home-baked bread, the original Holsteiner oven.

The highest landmark of the city is the mill museum Lauenburger mill of 1871/1873, a Dutch gallery mill. From her you have a good overview of the city as well as Mecklenburg and Lower Saxony. The production of flour from grain is illustrated here. This is how Wiki describes it. The mill is not easy to find. It lies on the other side of the B5, near Buchhorst. The mill looks a bit neglected from the outside, if you take a closer look. It is also museum and hotel.Source:

The mill can be visited. You can climb stairs up to the cap. The mill was last operated electrically. The millstone, blowers, sieves and filling devices are distributed over several levels (see photos). The waves for power transmission from the wind turbine down to the millstone are therefore no longer available.
