Yukon Bay is a small Canadian harbor town in the Hannover Adventure Zoo. Through a modeled tunnel you get u.a. to wolves, polar bears, penguins, gray seals. The food court is lovingly designed and worth a visit.

The boat tour is included for zoo visitors in the entrance fee. In good weather is expected to wait. But then you see the animals sometimes from the other side of the enclosure. :)

In the evening or just after the opening of the zoo, it is much quieter here and the waiting time or the queues are not that long anymore.

Unfortunately, you cannot go by boat in the winter season, but it is twice as much fun in summer.

Back at the zoo? The stone elephants were only built together with the jungle palace themed landscape. Right. The fountain is relatively young. And yet already in the past. The figures of the pachyderms, who either squirt out of the trunk or make "Pippi", were a tempting climbing offer for the kids. However, when the elephants had to be rehabilitated, the large elephants were replaced by two small, recumbent figures. Apparently, the zoo administration thought the risk of accident too great.

Meerkats live in shared apartments. They love socializing and do everything together: sleeping, eating, sunbathing. A meerkat is always on guard, protecting the community.

All pelican species have large beaks and a throat pouch underneath. In the throat sac, the great white pelican can absorb 13 liters of water in one sip. Of course there should be fish in it, because that's what the pelicans eat.

The chimpanzee is the third largest ape. He is most closely related to us humans, which is also reflected in some similarities in his behavior. However, due to poaching and the progressive destruction of its habitat, this species is endangered!
