Great little mountain with a view. The small round can also be mastered with children. You park below the glass monk by the dilapidated inn. Go up the stairs to the monk.
Then you can walk relatively well along the mountain at the top right. Comes past 2 viewpoints.
Until you go back down the mountain at a picnic spot. Below is a great way back to business.
You pass an old bunker entrance to the Langenstein concentration camp. With a detour, which was too far for our children, you could also visit the memorial.
The Gläserne Mönch (formerly called Thorstein) is about 180 m above sea level. NN high rock cliff made of sandstone in the nearby Halberstadt Thekenberge in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt.
The rock formation emerged from the bar mountains in the Upper Cretaceous.
It clearly towers above the surrounding forest and is therefore visible from afar.
