It has a nice view from the Krukenburg.

The Krukenburgruine is a popular destination. The keep is mountable and offers from its observation deck a panoramic view of parts of the North Hessian highlands and Sollings, the old historic place Helmarshausen and the monastery area and parts of Bad Karlshafen. From the tower you really have a great view. Well worth seeing - an absolute recommendation.

The castle grounds are well worth a visit! You can get there through the gate, but the tower is currently not accessible.

A large ruin with a wonderful view of the valley. It goes steeply uphill, a break is possible. A great photo object, the ruin is illuminated in the evening.

Free parking not far below the castle.
The entrance fee of 1.50 including access to the keep is absolutely ok.
Everything is freely accessible (Mainzer Keller) and can be admired up close. Even the medieval loo in the tower 😂!
Well worth a detour when the weather is nice!
