Scenic hiking / bike path from the "Lanstroper egg" down to Lanstropper lake. For the bike but already a little demanding. Mountain bikers will find it boring. I thought it was nice.

The nature reserve Lanstroper See is located on the territory of Dortmund in the district Scharnhorst, in the district Lanstrop. The Lanstroper lake was built around 1963 by a subsidence, which reached the groundwater level and thus ensured that this area was permanently flooded. The almost 8 ha lake is at its deepest point almost 5 m deep. The lake is surrounded by a narrow reed and reed belt, which also grow rushes, hedgehog flats, willowherb and stinging nettles. North of the lake has grown a forest and brushwood strip that provides habitat for the endangered small frog, the common frog and the common toad.

The Lanstroper lake is one of the most important habitats for migratory and breeding waterfowl in Dortmund, it is the third largest still waters of the city.

A beautiful path that gives you a good view of the lake and nature and its inhabitants. If possible, take a pair of binoculars

A nature reserve would be nice if you descend the few meters and enjoy the view.
