In the disused railway depot in Dahlhausen today is the railway museum - it is the largest private railway museum in Germany. Here you can discover a lot and learn about the history of the railway. Especially here in the Ruhr area, the train has a long history behind it - on many old tracks you can cycle today. Special highlights are, of course, the steam locomotives and museum tours, which are regularly offered.

This section of the Ruhrtalradweg lies in Bochum Dahlhausen in front of the railway museum, between the landmarks swimming bridge and "sleeping in a trailer". The cycle path is particularly close to the Ruhr and only a few centimeters higher, so that it is often not passable at high tide.
There are also many geese, swans and ducks, who like to besiege the path and garnish slippery.
    Super nice to drive :-)

The visit is worthwhile if you are on railways. Imposing are the old steam trains.

The railway museum is a great highlight especially for children and lovers.
The railway tunnel (underpass to the Ruhr) was renovated in the spring and is already passable. Great.
