Bike Touring Highlight
The Halbachhammer pond has now been remodeled close to nature. In recent years, the Emschergenossenschaft has already built an underground rainwater overflow basin for rainwater treatment and a rainwater retention basin to regulate the runoff into the Kreuzenbecke or into the Kesselbach, an upper reaches of the Borbecker Mühlenbach.
After the Stadtwerke Essen in turn made the canal connections to the rainwater treatment, the design of the waterside terrain was made.
Reeds were planted by the Emschergenossenschaft on the banks of the Mühlteich. In addition, a game protection fence was set up to protect the plantings on the western shore of the pond. As soon as the new plantings have developed robustly, this should also be reduced again. The design of the areas on the underground basins takes place after the completion of the work of Stadtwerke Kesselbachtal.
