Road Cycling Highlight
Phew, you've reached the top of Dunkery Beacon on the road!
Best tackled from the coastal northern side near the quaint village of Porlock, this 2 mile (3.2 km) climb is a real beast, ramping up to 17% gradient for much of the ascent.
It's steep and tough climbs like these that make Exmoor a mecca for cyclists of all types, with a gravel track from here up to the beacon summit more suitable for mountain bikers and gravel cyclists.
When you reach the top, or even on the way up, don't forget to pause to take in the magnificent sea views over the coastline of Somerset and North Devon, across to South Wales.
