The classic! Best early in the morning. During the day and especially on the weekend, crowds are here !! But you have to have seen, beautiful views. Easy to reach, also with stroller or wheelchair.

The classic in the Elbsandsteingebirge. At least once you have to go there, marvel at the view and then quickly run away from the tourist stream.

The most famous attraction in Saxon Switzerland.
Alone one is unfortunately never here. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth a visit because of the view of the Elbe and the surrounding countryside.

The Bastei is probably the most famous highlight of Saxon Switzerland. In the peak season from April to October, the bastion is often visited by tourists, but in the winter months you have the opportunity, and not infrequently, to escape the crowds and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Elbe in peace.

Easy to reach from Rathen. The view of the Elbe is impressive!

In the main season, the view for the essential is almost lost. Prefer to come in the spring or autumn who likes it quieter.

You should look for a day when it is so unfair that you are not overrun by tourist buses. Then it can be very nice here. ;O)

I think here you do not have to supplement anything, for me a uniquely beautiful landscape. Best early in the morning or at sunset to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere with not too many visitors.

The Bastei bridge is a classic among the hiking destinations in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, with magnificent views over the Elbe and the Lilienstein. The visit in the early morning is most worthwhile to enjoy the sunrise and the flow of tourists is also very limited.

Unfortunately overcrowded by tourists, you hardly get a foot on the floor. But you have beautiful views of the Elbe and parts of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

There is always something going on up there .... no matter if sun, rain, storm .... often too crowded.

Very impressive structure. It can be incorporated into many beautiful walks. For example, Something for children is not too long over the Schwedenlöcher and the Amselsee

As already mentioned, it makes sense to escape the bus crowds a bit so that you can enjoy this incredibly beautiful landscape better.

You have to be careful when you go here to escape the cramped ant-tourist crowds but incredibly beautiful scenery.

The best view of the Bastei bridge can be had from the vantage point, which, on the way to the right, is reached behind the Bastei bridge (coming from Rathen).

Best visiting times are in spring and autumn, partly because of the not so numerous tourists, on the other hand in the autumn because of the great colors of nature. Best photo opportunity at sunset.
