Hiking Highlight
Here the victory flows into the Rhine. A nice place to sit on the Rhine and see the ships and to wander through the magnificent nature reserve of the Siegauen. My video is here:
Beautiful but we could not run the round as planned.
Hike through the nature reserve of the Siegmündung. Over the headland between the Rhine and Sieg, which used to be an island. To protect the lands from flooding, the island was straightened in 1777. so that the victory hits the Rhine almost at right angles.
You have to walk a few meters to get to the end of the peninsula, which lies between Sieg and Rhein.
Always worth a trip with the family.
When the tide is low, the Sieg can be crossed safely at this point.
Great view over the Rhine to Graurheindorf.
The river is very shallow at low tide, so you can cross the Sieg without any problems.
Via the Kemper Werth, the hiker comes from the north bridge to the mouth of the Sieg.
