The museum is open every Sunday from 3pm to 5pm. On display there are objects from Mittelbuchen history, ranging from the Neolithic to the twentieth century. But the building itself, which includes the gate, the museum and the tower, is absolutely worth seeing. It is estimated that the tower is the oldest part of the building and was built between 1200 and 1300 AD.

The small half-timbered house built around 1500 was formerly used as a wax room. However, the associated tower is even older than the upper gate itself. It is estimated that it was built between 1200 and 1300.
The small local museum of Mittelbuchen is also located at the upper gate.
