The Russian Church is the only Russian Orthodox church in Wiesbaden and is located on the Neroberg. Visible from afar, with its five gilded domes, the building was built by the Nassau Duke Adolph in 1847-1855 in Russian Byzantine style as the Church of the Holy Sepulcher for his late wife Elizabeth Mikhailovna, a niece of Tsar Alexander I and Nicholas I Russian orthodox cemetery of 1856, on which numerous personalities are buried, who had settled in the city, when this was world spa town. The most well-known buried here is the painter Alexey von Jawlensky (1865-1941).de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russisch-Orthodoxe_Kirche_(Wiesbaden)
