Bike Touring Highlight
The town of Seligenstadt am Main is very popular with cyclists not only because of the well-known local ice cream parlors. There is also much to discover. For example, the Einhard basilica with the beautiful monastery garden invite you to linger. In addition to the monastery complex there are still many buildings to admire with half-timbered and also the town hall, the city fortifications, the water tower or one of the five museums are tourist attractions.
Collegiate Church and monastery garden (with herb garden). Remains of a Roman fort. Beautiful old town market square with cuddly Christmas market. And for the summer a good culture of ice cream parlors, 4 pieces for the small place, if I remember correctly. We always go to the Ice Emperor, street vendors without sitting, but the ice cream tastes like it was made without powdered powder. Notice in store: "We do not use disposable packaging and containers."
The old town is really nice, if you are looking for peace but the weekend should be avoided.
With the Glaabsbrauerei and Klein's Brauhaus there are two beautiful beer gardens, the ice cream from Seligenstadt is regionally famous, people can eat there well and take a break from everyday life.
