The view from the Hohe Warte is - like the Römerstein tower - divided into two parts: to the west and northwest one looks far out into the foothills of the Albania to the furrow of the Neckar valley, the Schönbuch and the Stuttgart forests and north to the heights of the Keuperwald mountains. The chimneys of the Neckarwerke in Altbach can be seen and with binoculars also the tower on the cores. Beautiful is the view of the vast meadows and margins of the Dettinger Roßberg. The deep valley of Ermstal with Hohenwittlingen can also be discovered. Since we are here in an area of the Alb, where at the beginning of the Albverein most local groups were formed and much was hiked, can be found in the near and further environment of the Hohe Warte even more lookout towers: Römerstein, Teckturm, Sternberg, Augstberg on the Gönninger Roßberg, Schönberg tower. In the west, the Eninger willow spreads on the Alb plateau, at the northern edge of the high basin of the Glems storage plant can be seen. Tübingen with its new neighborhoods on the surrounding heights and west of the Wurmlinger chapel are hard to miss. On special clear days, the Alps can also be seen from this lookout tower.
So / F open, but closed in the winter months; otherwise keys in the stud farm St. Johann, 07122/9296 or Mr. Strobel in Fohlenhof, 07122/9633, the key can be picked up at one point and returned to the other again.
