Hiking Highlight (Segment)
Large waterfalls, blue pools, deep gorges - the Leutascher gorge will delight children of all ages. Last but not least, the two impressive bridges provide the gorge.
The gorge is relatively steep. A total of three paths lead into it: The most spectacular is the Wasserfallsteig, which is only open in the warm summer months. Leprechaun Trail and Klammgeist Trail can be visited throughout the year.
Klammgeistweg: 3000 meters, approx. 1.5 hours
Leprechaun Trail: 1900 meters, approx. 1 hour
Wasserfallsteig: 400 meters, approx. 20 minutes, Admission: adults 2 €, children 1 €
The parking lot in Leutasch is chargeable (5 €).
With dog only conditionally recommendable, since the "way" (above) along the gorge has only grid floor (stairs included, only the bridges have closed ground). We put booties on our dog so he could walk most of the way on his own - but he did manage to get over it ... and he was happy to have forest floor under his paws again;)
Incidentally, the path is a real highlight with children: There are always information boards with child-friendly explanations of funny "goblins" or small stations that invite you to take an active part. We also found it interesting as an adult :)
You have to distinguish, between the ghost gorge, which can be traveled further up high above the Leutasch on metal lattice bars for free and the Wasserfallsteig, which leads on wooden jetties only a short distance into the lower gorge up to the waterfall and is paid well with 3 €. Overall, the Leutaschklamm but certainly worth seeing!
Since it can be a great eight run including double border crossing. Really nice laid out in great scenery. And in the end against a small obulus before the waterfall. To round off the whole number, of course, we jumped three meters deep into the ice-cold water. That was certainly not allowed, but we were back across the border.
Goes well with small and with big children. Even my 18 year olds loved it. And there is so much to experience. Everything lovingly designed.
