As a participant of the DAV campaign "Taste the mountains", the innkeepers of the Brunnsteinhütte prepare the majority of their food with local products, giving guests an authentic, lasting impression of the region.

The hut is farmed from the 1st of May to the middle of October. During the winter months and in spring, the hut is open on weekends, even in good weather.

I can only agree with my predecessor. In addition, the hut is very easy to reach, even for children. For children, the donkey, which is in the area of the hut, is also a highlight.

Nice little hut. Good gastro and price / performance ok.

Great location and ideal for a well-deserved break after the Mittenwald via ferrata or the Heinrich-Noe way

From the hut you have a fantastic view of the mountain panorama. The food is really good in terms of price and taste. The ascent is strenuous and sometimes steep, but definitely worth it.

The ladder path is very nice, we did it after our stay at the hut, which is worthwhile

Wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. The hut was still managed and the Kaiserschmarrn is highly recommended. 😋
The way up is not difficult in itself, but in the morning of October it was covered in snow and ice and very slippery! I had a walking stick with me, 2 would have been better.

Also to reach although you do not necessarily have the mega condition 😁 absolutely the suspension bridge or take the same over the boardwalk. If you do not have to walk from the beginning you can also Mittenwald (Wanderparkkplatz P3 then keep right as if you wanted to take the blue path, it is about 1 km left direction Leitersteig / Brunnsteinhütte, red dot). Is a bit difficult way. Especially in the wet, but then you come to the ladder and runs about 1/3 of the ladder towards the suspension bridge and then continue the normal blue way. The piece of the climb is quite easy to handle ... and has mega. Outlook. Much better than just the stone path (blue dot) to run up.
