A fantastic descent with - in comparison to Stelvio - little traffic. You can let it fly right or you drive a little slower and enjoy the really beautiful view that opens up in front of you. Important tip from personal experience: Even in summer it can be damn cold up in the mountains. Take a windbreaker and best of all a rain jacket and long gloves and a buff. Then the descent becomes a pleasure. ;)

Definitely recommendable - great route and much less traffic than on the Stelvio Pass. If you are on time, you may well have the road to yourself, and then you are so early on the Stelvio Pass that you can really enjoy the descent to Prad or Bormio. The note regarding warm clothing is absolutely correct, who goes to more than 2000 meters altitude is also in midsummer well advised to think of the significantly lower temperature there.

Compared to the neighboring Stilfersjoch practically no traffic even on beautiful August days

Fantastic departure with new very good asphalt. Mountain high also a dream because not so much car or moped traffic is

Unfortunately stands in the shadow of the Stelvio. At 2500m it is still a giant and no less beautiful. In the lower part, the short switchbacks with the coniferous forest, give a lot .. Not as much traffic as next door and Switzerland always offers nature to see

It's great for riding downhill. I would recommend riding uphill to Stelvio from Prato and then descending via Umbrail.

Great quiet pass, hardly any traffic, makes it a lot of fun to ride it

Incredibly beautiful departure or driveway - depending on where you come from. So beautiful that it is almost cheesy.

Those who have tormented the 48 turns from Prad to the yoke should definitely leave via the Umbrail. Scenic just wonderful.

An absolute dream through breathtaking scenery. Cars are only occasionally hit here, as most of the traffic flows through the Stelvio ramps to Prad or Bormio. In September, you have to drive a bit cautious / anticipatory at the cow lift in Münstertal ...

Super nice descent through a beautiful landscape, almost no traffic. Unfortunately I got a freezing cold day, above 2 degrees Jacke jacket u. Take gloves with you.

In contrast to the Stelvio Pass, very green romantic pass

a pass great pass with virtually no traffic, as the previous speakers recommend ... stow long things, in Bormio at the bottom around 23 degrees at the top of the bend max 5 degrees and wet.
My recommendation for those who drive up via Prad should return via the Umbrail
otherwise, the same rule applies here to enjoy the descent
