This tour offers a unique insight into the ripped Morteratsch glacier and the ice giants of the Bernina massif.
The starting point of this hike is the Morteratsch station of the Rhaetian Railway. The focus of the tour is the vegetation of the lively glacier foreland, the marked glacier educational trail with information on the retreat of the glacier and the Chünetta viewpoint, which translates as “little cradle”.
16 stops are marked on the glacier educational trail to the Morteratsch glacier. You can find information on this in the book «Lebendiges Gletschervforeld». On the way back, the Chünetta lookout point is right on the edge of the path, with close-up views of the mighty glacier streams and mighty peaks.
The descent to Morteratsch is through light forest.

From here you have a particularly beautiful view of the glacier.
