To get to Masca, you have to overcome from the sea once well over 700 meters, because the place is located in the Tenno Mountains. Meanwhile, this is quite comfortable on a, ideal for racing cyclists, narrow winding mountain road. The location of the village is quite spectacular - the houses are located on the inner slopes of a volcanic crater. The design of the houses is probably unique - the rooms of the houses are connected by external stairs. A tour through the village leaves beautiful, lasting impressions. And for the physical well-being is also very well taken care of - some restaurants wait here with their country-typical specialties.
In the idyllic Masca is the bar "La Piedra". We can only recommend there an island-typical "Barraquito" to drink.
He is really delicious and also a bit tweeted :-)Ingredients for a Barraquito:
2 cl sweetened condensed milk
2 cl Licor 43
4 cl hot espresso
2-3 tablespoons hot milk foam
1 pinch of cinnamon
Masca is located in a very idyllic valley. Surrounded by towering volcanic rocks, the valley has a very nice vegetation. If you look down from Masca towards the Atlantic you can see the island of Gomera. At least everything that protrudes from Gomera from the cloud cover. In Masca there are some coffee bars in which one should enjoy the delicious, island-typical coffee drink Barraquito if one is ever there. Very tasty and with a shot Liqueur 43. That's earned! One is on vacation ;-) !!!
We took a taxi from Los Gigantes Harbor for €26 … this way we only had to hike from Masca down to the beach - bring plenty of water and a sandwich for beautiful picnic spots along the way! and Enjoy!
