In the years 2006 and 2013, a garden show project was realized on the area below the Eger Castle in cooperation with the German cities Marktredwitz and Tirschenreuth. The landscaping and landscaping of neglected urban areas in Germany can look back on a long-standing tradition, but in the Czech Republic it was an isolated and completely unique project. The history of the Egerer Gartenschauen goes back to the 19th century, and all three pre-war Eger garden shows in the years 1898, 1923 and 1931 took place at the same location in the "shadow" of the castle walls of the magnificent Romanesque castle in Egertal. The town of Eger has already made two famous references to this famous tradition in its modern history, and in connection with another project, an interesting tourism, recreational and sports area was created on both banks of the Eger offering visitors and city dwellers of all ages a wide range of activities. The walking boulevard is complemented by children's playgrounds with swings and slides, a bike path, a miniature golf course, water games for children, an outdoor fitness area not only for seniors, a cross-country course, playgrounds for pétanque, table tennis, streetball play, a climbing park, a Picnic meadow, an observation tower on the Vávra bridge and two restaurants with summer terraces.
