Prime sunset location: Seal Point Nature Reserve. Cape Recife is part of the Seal Point Nature Reserve.
Conveniently, there's a small, semi-paved parking lot at this location. From here, you can embark on enjoyable, adventurous hikes.

Information about the nature reserve:
The Seal Point Nature Reserve encompasses the land on both sides of the road leading to the lighthouse and extends along the entire coast to the western boundary of the village of Cape St. Francis at Sunset Rocks.
The iconic Seal Point Lighthouse is visible from almost every high point in the nature reserve. Originally, the lighthouse was planned for Cape St. Francis (Shark Point), but it was ultimately decided to build it further south on Seal Point in Seal Bay. Since 1878, the lighthouse has been known as the Cape St. Francis Lighthouse at Seal Point.

A unique community of miniature plants covers a narrow (10-20 m) wide strip of shell gravel just above the high-water mark along the Seal Point peninsula and around the lighthouse. It is home to eight endangered plant species.

Along the Wild Side of the west coast, wetlands are home to pimpernel and sea aster. Clawless Cape otters are also frequently spotted.
