At the former beacon in Bunthausenspitze, the Elbe divides into the North and South Elbe for 15 kilometers, until both arms converge again at Altona.
The beacon has not been in operation for a long time, but a detour is definitely worth it!

The way to get there is not easy to find. Leaving the dike, you drive to the grounds of a campsite. To the right is the cycle path to the Bunthäuser Spitze.

At the Bunthäuser point in Hamburg Wilhelmsburg / Moorwerder the Elbe begins to divide its course for one kilometer, in Norderelbe and Süderelbe. Directly at the Bunthäuser Spitze one found the beacon Bunthaus - a lighthouse made of wood. From there you have a wonderful view over this Elbe delta. A destination for the whole family.
