5 windmills have been investigated; the 3 so-called "Mondrins" mills listed as "Historical Monuments" are in relatively good condition; the Moulin-Neuf and the Sainte-Anne mill, on the other hand, have been resolutely transformed.

The bay of Mont-St-Michel is dotted with historic windmills, most are stone masonry towers but meanwhile without wings, some converted to residential houses. Some are still in decay, a few are beautifully restored like the Moulin de La Saline a few hundred yards to the east.
