    "Turbo" and "Joe, the cool one" are the work of students
    Pamina Herxheim School Center and Annweiler Secondary School provide the sporty ones among the gray animals - youth culture and identification object

    The circle of Eschbach donkeys is slowly closing. Since the anniversary, many guests have come to the village to admire the colorful animals. Among them are two specimens that were designed by students from schools in Annweiler and Herxheim. Both can be found on the Weinstraße: "Joe" from the Annweiler Secondary School with the number 25 is located pretty much at the southern beginning, and with number 14 "Turbo" concludes the donkey round on the Weinstraße in the local area. Joe - Donkey of the RSAJoe, the cool "skater donkey", presents himself in a sporty way and confidently observes all the traffic from a sandstone wall wearing a baseball cap, jeans and T-shirt. 13 students from classes 10 c and 10 e of the Annweiler Secondary School helped the young styled animal to his external appearance. "There were many ideas for the design, but ultimately a design was implemented that particularly embodies youth and youth culture, so that the school donkey may become an object of identification for many of Annweiler's students," hopes art teacher Michael Eßwein, under whose leadership the project was run. Deputy headmistress Irmgard Bauer was also enthusiastic about the idea of designing a "school donkey". She campaigned not only for the students to design the donkey artistically, but also for it to be purchased. During the anniversary year, Joe will be loaned to the Eschbach community, and will then find a place of honor on the school grounds in Annweiler. Incidentally, Joe is not the only Eschbach representative at the Annweiler secondary school. None other than Mayor Hugo Steinmüller has been a member of the teaching staff there for many years. And should he one day give up his teaching job, "Joe, the Cool One" will always be a memorial in Annweiler to remind people of the Eschbach anniversary.
