Only three of the winding towers built by Fritz Schupp during this period have survived, the Nordsternturm is the only one that is open to visitors (but not during the Corona period). The Nordsternturm is an exhibit of industrial culture in the Ruhr area and the backdrop for an exhibition about the site and the phases of its change: floors 11 to 5 of the tower are now used by the Nordstern Museum.

A sculpture sits on top of the winding tower: 18m high and 23t heavy.

From the observation deck on the 18th floor, 83 metres above the ground, the Nordsternturm offers an impressive view over the green Ruhr area. Hercules' buttocks and club are very close to visitors. As someone who is afraid of heights, it's different for me.
