The Salt and Moor Museum is located in the historical building ensemble of the so-called Klaushäusl. Here you can learn, for example, more about the first brine line from Reichenhall to Rosenheim and everything about the moor. Did you know that there are carnivorous plants in Chiemgau or that raised bogs (almost) preserve everything that falls into them?
The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Monday, from May to October. Entry costs 4 euros for adults and 2 euros for children. You can find more information at grassau.de/das-museum.

The historical building ensemble of the Klaushäusl, directly on the B305 between Grassau and Rottau, today houses two museums in one, the Museum Salz & Moor: In the salt museum you can discover the technical history of the brine pipeline from Reichenhall to Rosenheim, which was one of the first pipelines of the World applies. The moor museum, on the other hand, offers fascinating insights into life in the high moor and explains in a vivid way connections that normally remain hidden from the eye. There are also special exhibitions that change every year.
