The primitive church of San Silvestro, which was a branch of the parish church of Stabiuzzo, stood in the locality of Cornudella and was managed by some monks from the Nonantola abbey.
This chapel was destroyed during a flood of the Piave river in 1344 and was then rebuilt together with the town near Ulmo; the area then began to be known as Cima di Ulmo and then as Cimadolmo.
In 1567 a new flood of the Piave razed the church to the ground; the village was rebuilt in another location and the new church was built around 1660.
