Unška Koliševka, unlike other sinkholes found, for example, in the Rakov Škocjan karst reserve, hides another peculiarity. In fact, around the sinkhole there are military tunnels and bunkers carved into the rock, which were built by Italian soldiers between the two world wars. A smaller part of these corridors with a total length of about 1.5 km is still freely accessible.

Please remember the paths you take, not that someone stays inside 😜. There are several junctions. Some useful information has been written on the walls.
Watch out, at an exit (viewpoint) it goes down vertically. A skull was previously painted on the right wall.
We could not commit a course because the water was too high. Otherwise it is a very interesting and exciting experience. We can only recommend it!! Be sure to bring flashlights!!

There is a large board at the top that provides information about the flora and fauna of the region and warns of the local poisonous snake 😉.
To the left of this, a small trail leads down (over steps) directly to the entrance of the tunnel system.

From the same starting point above, a small trail leads clockwise (along the edge of the sinkhole) to the ruins of some military buildings and to another entrance to the tunnel system.
