In 1774 a temple was built dedicated to the titular, the Santíssimo Crist del Munt Calvari, at the behest of Cristóbal Crespí de Valldaura, count of Orgaz. During the War of Independence it was used as a barracks by the French troops and was looted, so it had to be rebuilt. Thus the hermitage dates from the beginning of the 19th century. It was extended in 1967 and has subsequently been the subject of other interventions that have contributed to the good state of conservation of the hermitage and calvary complex.
