Here is a historical building for today's youth.
It's a phone booth that once had a coin box. In times when there was no mobile phone - yes, back then!

The story about the phone booth in Brokeloh
     (by Margarete Schrader)

Until 1975, Brokeloh had its own post office in house no. 18 - today Brokeloher Dorfstr. 11 - in the third generation Lisa Schrader was the last postman.
After about 60 years, the post office was closed there and Lisa Schrader put the post office as Landbriefträgerin from Landesbergen to.
Schraders also had a telephone booth installed on the floorboard. As part of the dissolution of the post office in Brokeloh replacement had to be created for this cabin. When searching for the location, the current location next to the former post office was found to be good and central, and a yellow telephone booth was set up.
At some point later there was also a "new telephone booth", our current showroom. The mailbox, which had its place on Schrader's yard until 1982, was then converted there as well to complete it.
As a breakpoint for sales cars such as poultry and fruit dealers is therefore still in the newspaper: Brokeloh, Post!
In 2003 it was time. Telekom was of the opinion that the cell was not enough used. And so it came out! The cell was disconnected.
But you did not expect the Brokelohern! Brokeloher council members announced the dismantling of Telekom in the village.
At this time Brokeloh was after the successful participation in several village competitions at county, state and federal level just before the last, the Europe-wide village competition "Entente Florale" in which we then won a silver medal. We were also intensively accompanied by newspapers, radio and television during this hustle and bustle.
These competitions provided us with the necessary arguments to delay the dismantling of the cell by Telekom, because it was thought that a pay phone just belonged to the village.
So we still had a little air to contact the community and the telecom because of the phone booth.
Nevertheless, in July 2007, the crane was dismantled next to the phone booth. The workers were asked about their plans by the neighbors, who had become aware of the situation, but they had not known about Telekom's promise to leave the yellow house in its place.
After the vigorous protest of the neighbors and some cell phone calls of the workers in the presence of Brokeloher then the instruction of the telecom came to "stand still".
The joy of those present was great! Especially when the key of the cell was given to us shortly afterwards, and since then we have officially owned the cell.
Just 15 minutes after the workers left, the cell was decorated with flower pots for the expected visit of two NDR and RTL television crews.
In a joint effort, a new underground cable was laid for the power supply to neighbor Horst Noack, who has since been providing the electricity for the cell free of charge. The space around the cell was paved in collaboration with natural stones.
Since then, we decorate the cell according to changing topics and ideas.
Villagers and guests take an active part in our hobby and provide suggestions and accessories, for which Ingeborg Freytag and Margarete Schrader would like to express their heartfelt thanks.
