The Bockenheimer Warte is one of the watch towers built by the Frankfurt Landwehr in the 15th century.
From 1434 to 1435 the Bockenheimer Warte was built to reinforce the Landwehr. It still exists today and impresses with its clear Gothic style. The Bockenheimer Warte is the landmark of Bockenheim, although it is - albeit just - in the district of Westend.

From 1434 to 1435 the Bockenheimer Warte was built to reinforce the Landwehr. It impresses with its clear Gothic style and is Bockenheim's landmark. The square of the same name forms the western end of Bockenheimer Landstrasse. There you will find the former canteen of the Bockenheim university campus, the university library and the Bockenheimer depot, a former tram depot, now a theater. One of Frankfurt's weekly markets takes place every Thursday right at the foot of the Wartturm. At the foot there is an ice cream parlor and a kiosk.
