This monument to the medieval knight Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, known as El Cid Campeador, includes a statue of the hero made by the Valencian sculptor Francisco Catalá Blanes. It is the first of the many monuments dedicated to the Cid that can be found on the Camino del Cid.

Along the Camino del Cid there are several statues dedicated to Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, also known as the Cid Campeador. The Vivar del Cid monument includes a statue of the hero made by the Valencian sculptor Francisco Catalá Blanes.
El Cid was a noted warrior born in the 11th century who became a symbol of bravery and honor for his legendary feats in battles against Muslims and Christians.
