The first monument represented the aviator in his plane taking off towards the sea.
He thus refers to the memory of his daily reconnaissance flight which he carried out and in which he lost his life.
The second monument and more sober.
Two concrete walls representing airplane wings, placed vertically, support a platform on which the bust of Guynemer, recovered from the old monument, is placed.
On one of the wings there is an engraving of the airplane model used by Guynemer, while the other pays homage to the exploits of the aviator.

Very nice monument in the immediate vicinity of the "MUSÉE DUNKERQUE 1940 OPÉRATION DYNAMO". Georges Guynemer is one of the best-known French wartime pilots of World War I. In proven 53 dogfights, it emerged victorious, and it received special recognition for its duel against the German flying ace Ernst Udet.
