Controne is located at the foot of the Alburni Mountains and immediately above the Calore river. It falls within the territory of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park. Its name derives from its position and exposure to the sun: CONTRA - ELJONE (from the Greek helios which means sun), or "Facing the sun". The Controne Bean Festival is, in fact, a historical re-enactment of the Controne dishes and traditions and you can taste the protagonist of the event, the Controne Bean, in all its best expressions.

Corleto is located in the north-eastern part of Cilento, inserted in the naturalistic context of the homonymous national park, at the foot of the Alburni Mountains and close to the Bosco di Corleto.
It stands on the provincial road that connects it to Postiglione and passes through the Castelcivita Caves, while to the south it is crossed by the SS 166. The historic center, which constitutes almost the entire town, stands close to a ravine overlooking the valley of the Fasanella river. The Corleto wood is a large forest area located on the southwestern part of the Alburni Mountains which touches the Passo della Sentinella, on the border with San Rufo. It consists mainly of beech trees and is forestally contiguous with the southernmost area of Pruno. The naturalistic museum of the Alburni, born in 1997 and located in the center of the town, is a large structure for wildlife monitoring and scientific research in the biological field.

Interesting to visit is the historic center with the main square Umberto I, where the characteristic houses are still visible today. Unique are the works in the church of S. Nicola di Bari among which we remember the wooden statue of the patron of about 5 ql and the Papal Bull of Benedict VII. To go through are the streets of the historic center that intersect each other. This small town appears to the visitor nestled in a lush green setting, at the foot of the Alburni Mountains, in a spectacle of incomparable natural beauty. In fact, it is surrounded on one side by woods and olive groves and on the other by a series of hills, full of vineyards, orchards and water sources.
