The grille from 1900, which is still there today, was installed above the main entrance door of the chewing building. In the right half of the grille you can see the beak pointing east. The sun above and behind the Ruhr symbolizes the east. In the left half there is a picture of a lightning bolt.
To the right of the grille there is a piece of coal that comes from the last mining in the Kreftenscheer seam at a depth of 680 m.

"The surface facilities of the Schnabel ins Osten [sic] and Langenbrahm II/IV mines were demolished in the 1960s – with the exception of one workshop, which has survived to this day. [...] At the corner of Rellinghauser Straße and Schnabelstraße, a plaque provides information about the former mine. Next to it is the gate of the former washhouse. Along with a miner's lamp, it symbolizes the Schnabel ins Osten mine (Schnabel under the rising sun)."
