Impressive architecture in the heart of the Santa Cruz quarter, built in the 17th century. Originally a hospital for elderly, poor, and disabled priests, the building was designed by architects Juan Domínguez and Leonardo de Figueroa and is an example of Sevillian Baroque architecture. It currently houses the Centro Velázquez, an exhibition center dedicated to the famous painter Diego Velázquez. The center displays various works by Velázquez and other contemporary artists. The building's courtyard features a unique tiered fountain with descending circular steps decorated with tiles.
