The golden sands (Golden Sand Beach, Chin. 沙滩沙滩 Jin Sha Tan) is the most famous and largest beach on the west coast of Qingdao (Huangdao, New West Coast). In the summer very popular for swimming, jet skiing and in the evening especially for grilling (烧烤 Shaokao) with refreshing Tsingtao beer.
The beach is supervised, there are changing rooms, toilets and showers. In summer, umbrellas and tents are rented (about 40-60 RMB / h). The water quality is mostly ok, but there are quite a few algae. Due to the barbecue fire, the sand is not always as clean as you could wish for.
