Baghdad Cafe in Newberry Springs
It was actually called Sidewinder Cafe, but then a film was to be shot with a central plot in neighboring Baghdad. However, since the original Baghdad Cafe had fallen into disrepair like the rest of the place, the Sidewinder Cafe in Newberry Springs, a truck stop that luckily survived the end of Route 66, was used as a replacement. After many were familiar with the cafe from the film, the name Bagdad Cafe somehow stuck.
