Framed by the woods, Stramare is an enchanted village which today has only five inhabitants. It was founded in the seventeenth century by Istrian charcoal burners attracted by the abundance of wood and water in the area.
A curiosity: here everyone has the same surname (Stramare), which made it necessary to use nicknames to distinguish the different family branches.
