It stands there picturesquely, the villa in the classicist style at the very end of Werden's Heckstrasse. The house, in which the last mayor of Werden lived until the early 1950s, was bought by the Essen savings bank in 2002 and extensively restored. The "Association of Friends of the Mayor's House Werden e.V." has been holding cabaret evenings in the stylish rooms since 1986 and rents out the listed building for events. The downside is that there are few parking spaces and - out of consideration for the residents - no noise after 10 p.m.
