The only still passable ship tunnel in Germany with a length of almost 200 meters passes under the old town of Weilburg. Opened in 1847, it soon lost its economic importance for shipping. As I discovered a few years ago, going in a canoe is a real experience.

Certainly one of the most interesting and beautiful parts of the tour was the ship tunnel in Weilburg. We watched for a while and observed a lock process. A great experience. It is a pity that the other side is not so easy to see.
