The historic arches support the seafront promenade and are a vital part of our seafront infrastructure. After 120 years, it’s time for some of the arches to be replaced.

Victorian architectural arches that stretch along the seafront beneath King's Road between the Brighton & Hove boundary (at the Peace Statue) to just beyond Palace Pier. They now house a mixture of cafés, bars, shops, art galleries and a sailing club. The area in front of the arches is pedestrianised and get very busy, so keep to the cycle route along the top, next to King's Road.
