The mill is a so-called hollow post mill and was used as a polder mill. Together with the Rijswijkse Molen, which burned down in 1907, the Rijswijk and Uitwijk polder was drained. 1400. The main feature is that the entire upper house
can be rotated around the tube. Shake when the wind blows
or 'bounce' these mills, hence the name.
