This is the southern end of the Willard Munger State Trail, a 70-mile paved trail that runs from Hinkley to Duluth. It is mostly flat, but runs downhill once you get closer to Duluth. It's not uncommon to see wildlife along the trail, and if you travel early enough, people camping alongside it.

This trail is not the best for road cycling. Though it covers over 70 miles from Hinckley, MN to Duluth, MN, it consists many "bumps". Cracks, and some rough sections.
This trail is very safe because there is absolutely no vehicle traffic. There are some minor pedestrian traffic and some other riders at time.

The amenities on the trail are great. There are spots to camp over night, restrooms, plenty of benches to sit on to rest for a quick snack break as well as small towns on the route to stop over for lunch or a longer break.
