Welfski zamek „Ravensburg”, o którym po raz pierwszy wspomniano w 1088 roku, w 1191 roku przeszedł w posiadanie Stauferów, a po ich upadku trafił do Habsburgów. Nazwa „Veitsburg” przyjęła się około 1500 roku i odnosiła się do kaplicy zamkowej św. Veita. Zamek spłonął w 1647 roku. Jedna z pierwotnie trzech wież mieszkalnych została częściowo zachowana w budynkach gospody. Na wschód od dawnych stajni ze studnią (XVI wiek/obecnie schronisko młodzieżowe).
