The big market square of Neustadt an der Weinstraße is always worth a visit. The restaurants and cafes on the square invite you to linger with their cozy terraces. Here you can have a coffee while gazing over the beautiful facades of the houses that surround the market square.

But not only the market square of Neustadt an der Weinstraße enchants with its charm. The entire old town is worth seeing and a stroll through the pretty streets is definitely worth it.

In front of the King's Fountain in the middle of the market square there is a large plaque commemorating the burning of books by the National Socialists on May 14, 1933 with the following text: "Where books are burned, people will also be burned in the end. (Heinrich Heine, 1820)"
